Look beyond traditional funding sources. There may be not-for-profit or community-based organizations that can offer you financing or direct you towards financing. These organizations are often set up to help business owners in a specific geographic region or demographic group. Your success is their success!

Organizations offering financing

These not-for-profit and community-based organizations either offer financing or can help you access financing.

  • CYBF Expansion Program

    You could get $10,000 to grow your business if you received a Start-Up loan from the Canada Youth Business Foundation within the last three to five years.

  • CYBF Newcomer Program

    If you are a recent immigrant to Canada and are between the ages of 18 and 39 years old, you can apply for money to start a business.

  • CYBF Start-Up Program

    Are you between 18 and 39 years old? If you are a Canadian resident with a good business idea, you could get $15,000 or more to start or run a business full-time.

  • Grant — Fondation Montréal Inc
    Applies only to: Québec

    If you are a young Montreal entrepreneur, you could receive a grant of between $5,000 and $30,000 to start up your business as well as advice or training.

Other organizations offering business support

There are a variety of organizations that offer business assistance in the form of business development, coaching services, or networking opportunities. Often these organizations can also help you access financing.
